I Don’t Always Ask Why–But When I Do, I Ask 5 Times

Last year, when Lean Memes were all the rage (or at least it was fun for a weekend), I had an artist create this image that is a parody of the beer commercial “Most Interesting Man in the World” character… and I completely forgot to post it here on the blog.

Why? Let the root cause analysis begin…

5 whys guy

We could call him “The Most Interesting Problem Solver in the World,” perhaps.

Via Zazzle, you can buy coffee mugs, t-shirts, or possibly other products with this image. With apologies to the Car Talk guys, we'll call this the “Shameless Commerce” division of LeanBlog.org. Leave a comment if I should create a different product with this image.

Honestly, this isn't a money maker… just thought I'd share a coffee mug that makes me chuckle a bit.

So no, this coffee mug won't fix your process–but it might make you smile while you're asking “why” for the third (or fifth) time. And if it sparks even one better question in a meeting, maybe it's doing its job after all.
