The Book Cover Reveal Event – “The Mistakes That Make Us” [Recording]

On Tuesday, May 2nd, I hosted a live event to reveal the full cover of my upcoming book The Mistakes That Make Us: Cultivating a Culture of Learning and Innovation.

The Kindle version of the book is now available for pre-order via Amazon (and you can see the front cover there). The book will also be available in paperback, hardcover, and audiobook formats. You can view the full print edition cover design here.

You can view it via the LinkedIn Live event page or via YouTube. Thanks again to Elisabeth for hosting it and collaborating with me!

The Content and Topics for the Event as Announced:

To date, I've teased the top part of the front cover:

In the live event, host Elisabeth Swan (author of the new book Picture Yourself a Leader) and I will discuss the collaborative and iterative process that I went through with the cover designer.

The art was done by somebody who is nearly a lifelong friend of mine, who works as a professional artist and designer. He volunteered to help me by doing his first-ever book design (his normal work involves projects far more important than this!).

I'll show the artist's original concept sketches and how our selected cover went through many rounds of iteration and improvement.

Elisabeth and I will talk about iteration as authors and publishers and I'm sure we will talk more broadly about the power of iteration in the workplace, for continuous improvement or innovation. We'll also take live questions from the audience…
