Video #11 features  Norman Bodek talking about some of the ideas in his most recent book, How to do Kaizen: A new path to innovation – Empowering everyone to be a problem solver. Late in the podcast, Norman asks and answers an interesting question: what if an employee suggests “we should blow up the factory”??

This was recorded in March 2010, with Norman appearing from his office in Portland, OR.

  1. Hi Mark,

Great interview! Norman sent me a copy of his latest book a while back. I am about half the way through it thus far. It is chock full of what he calls “quick and easy kaizen” and what others call, including myself, “daily kaizen.” Awesome stuff and it’s the way, the only way to move an organization from system-driven kaizen (mostly events as pulled by value stream improvement plans and the like…in itself a great thing, but not complete) to principal-driven kaizen (system kaizen, plus daily kaizen). Principal-driven kaizen truly engages the hearts, minds and hands of the organization and transforms the culture. It’s the goal.

    Thanks for sharing this interview!
