Tracy Defoe is a white settler, workplace education specialist, Kata Geek and humble lean practitioner. She does research, writes and delivers courses, facilitates, trains and coaches. Her consulting company is called The Learning Factor; she works part-time at Capilano University in Community Development and Outreach. Over her career she has grappled with teaching people over content, the politics of policies, and navigating the risky optimism of learning at work. Tracy Defoe holds a BA in French, and a MA (Ed) in Curriculum and Instruction, both from UBC. Tracy was born, lives and works In Vancouver Canada on the unceded traditional territories of the Coast Salish peoples, including Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
