Management Guru Peter Drucker, 95, Dies

The influential management thinker, Peter Drucker, has passed on. There are many tributes to him on the web and the blogs, including some of the lean blogs (including Evolving Excellence). I saw him speak at a conference about seven years (via video) and know he was incredibly sharp mentally throughout his life, something we should all hope for.

Here is a link to a bio and the Wikipedia entry on him.

I haven't ignored Drucker as an influence, but I know he deeply influenced many people I have learned from and I'm grateful for that. I'm going to take the recommendation of the Wall St. Journal and pick up one of his books, even from the 60's. Drucker thought so far ahead that the rest of us are still catching up.

Here's to being good managers. No, here's to being professional managers. Thanks for teaching us how, Dr. Drucker.
