Brunessa E. Drayton is a former sales professional, leader and advocate. Raised in a military family, she takes pride in a strong work ethic and brings a unique perspective deeply rooted in her Afro-Latina heritage. This combination makes her a passionate champion to work on behalf of those who have historically been underserved and underrepresented.
After several years in the private sector, Brunessa pivoted her career. She recently completed a year of service with AmeriCorps, serving as an Outreach and Enrollment Specialist for Project Health Access. In her current role as Cobb County Commission Assistant-District 4, Brunessa is responsible for administrative support and constituent services.
Brunessa graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Master in Public Administration. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Spanish from Western Kentucky University. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and a Fellow of the Georgia Women’s Policy Institute.
In her spare time, she enjoys going anywhere that requires a passport and training for half marathons.
