The Lean Journey at Celestica

My-ESM – The Lean Journey:

It's nice to see lean being driven from the CEO level at this former IBM business unit.

“What Celestica found was religion, of sorts. It began a journey of continuous improvement, a pilgrimage in which Lean-the systematic elimination of waste-became the source of salvation.

Although Celestica started down the Lean path about six years ago, the pace has accelerated in the last 18 months with the appointment of Delaney as CEO. Not only has Delaney picked up the pace of Lean implementation within the company, but he also is aggressively promoting the practice with Celestica's trading partners as a way to improve end-to-end supply chain performance.”

Another Celestica article is here, with an additional link to a “lean design” online web seminar.
