At work, are you talking ABOUT people instead of taking WITH them? When there is an issue, are you more comfortable being direct with that person or to you run to somebody else?

When you talk about what’s 0value added” to employees or the things that managers do to “add value,” I’m afraid that really dilutes the meaning of the word “value“ in the #lean methodology. Value is defined by the end customer, the person who is willing to pay for something.

It's amazing how many people still think punishing individuals leads to quality improvement. If that were true, healthcare would be pretty much perfect by now. Punishment leads to fear, hiding of problems, deflection of blame – which doesn't lead to improvement.

Sounds like Apple isn't delivering what the market wants. The market wants a cheaper, smarter speaker with acceptable sound?

"Humbled" does not have the same meaning as "honored."
"We're humbled to received this award…"
I think you mean "honored."
Being told your book stinks – now that's a humbling experience.

“the majority of individual workflow at businesses around the world consists of emailing Excel files around.” — and @KaiNexus is one of many companies looking to solve that for different types of customers (for us, it's people using #Lean, etc.). https://t.co/gsfz3fD3kQ

Yes, excessive automation at Tesla was a mistake. To be precise, my mistake. Humans are underrated.

“I need to figure out how to be better….And then we can be better at meeting goals."
Or @ElonMusk can build a team and a culture that doesn’t require him to figure it all out. https://t.co/bCP0qRCfRU

GREAT sentence from @MarkGraban book to be: We don’t manage the metric; we manage the system that leads to the results and we lead the people who help us improve the system. #measuresofsuccess

“It's ironic then that over-using technology – robots and automation in this case – is what screwed up the Model 3's production. If Musk has learned anything after this… he should start applying his life philosophy to his work sooner rather than later.” https://t.co/tUoYoCRujx

Other gem from @MarkGraban next book: It goes to show what creativity people have if we are trying to engage them in improving the system. Otherwise, their creativity goes into cheating and workarounds –or they just disengage. #measuresofsuccess

Why was it not the top priority?
“Another big difference from last year’s strategy falls under safety and quality. That’s now a “top priority,” https://t.co/NgQ1ygk9bd

It's so easy for an airline or a hospital to say things like this: “Safety is at the forefront of our minds and the core of our operations." Doesn't always mean it's true. https://t.co/Ff85tjKw8D

Tesla forces workers to take vacation or unpaid leave. That hurts their paychecks through no fault of their own.
Toyota has a different model – they PAY employees during shutdowns to do training or improvement work. But, they're not running out of cashhttps://t.co/fK8VNmHilT

“Injuries were reported by workers to supervisors or managers, but the complaints were dismissed. California law requires injuries sustained at the workplace to be reported, but Tesla reportedly used other ways to avoid reporting.” https://t.co/Ybmv2Y9i8P

“Concerned about bone-crunching collisions and the lack of clearly marked pedestrian lanes at the Fremont plant, the general assembly line’s then-lead safety professional went to her boss, who she said told her, “Elon does not like the color yellow.”” https://t.co/h6tr9xVzXr

“Our #lean #sixsigma courses are the highest rated!”
Well there’s a perfect example of data without context and unknowable numbers. That sounds like an assertion that’s made without full data. What if there’s a better course they don’t know about? #marketing
