We at Humantech call it the 30-inch view between the worker and the task.  Put your focus there; eliminate the opportunity for error; don&#039;t try to change how the worker thinks.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Another book worth reading is &quot;Set Phasers on Stun&quot; by Steven Casey.  The fixes are right in front of us and we don&#039;t make them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Debbie</description>

I have a whole slew of books I really want to read and this is added to the pile.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Your post helps me think of what is produced in Kaizen events.  Teams get excited about making everything visual so instructions get posted on everything.  Spending a little more time designing things to be intuitive would go a long way.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is another great reminder to stay in pursuit of elegance.</description>
