"Lean Hospitals" Wins Prestigious Shingo Prize
Great news, this is quite an honor and I'm very excited. My book, "Lean Hospitals: Improving Quality, Patient Safety, and Employee Satisfaction" has been awarded a Research Prize by the Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence. I just found out today.
I'm thrilled to be given this prize, named in honor of Dr. Shigeo Shingo, one of the founders of the Toyota Production System. It's also an honor to included with such an illustrious list of previous Research Prize winners. I'm not sure yet who the other winners are, but I'll post it here when it's formally announced.
Hope to see some of you at the Conference and Awards Banquet in Nashville. I don't know my exact schedule for the week, but please do contact me if you're going to be there.
