Donations to the Josie King Foundation

As some of you might remember, I was offering autographed versions of my book, Lean Hospitals, with proceeds going to the Josie King Foundation, a group that promotes process improvement and patient safety in healthcare.

I've had a few people take me up on the offer and wanted to share a transparent accounting here.

I've sold 3 autographed copies at $55 and after my cost for the book through my publisher, the net donation per book is $27. I'm covering shipping costs and PayPal charges as my donation to the effort.

So, today, I donated $81 to the foundation. I've also generated $70 in direct donations from people who just wanted an autographed label. It's small, but every $150 helps.
