I'm going to record a podcast episode with retired Lt. Randy Russell, of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Russell was deeply involved in their efforts to adopt Lean principles in law enforcement. We had a quick chat today and I think it's going to make for a fascinating episode.

Several local business people encouraged him to consider application of lean principles, and it wasn’t long before he proclaimed lean to be “a perfect fit” for his agency. “As leader, my responsibility is to build an organization where people want to achieve by providing jobs worth doing, removing obstacles and rewarding them for successes—that’s lean.”

This is about using Lean in very impactful ways - ways that improve the quality of policing for Jacksonville, practices that could be applied for the benefit of citizens worldwide.
