Are you working on the True Problem?

Lean Blogger David Meier tipped me off to this interesting post about root cause problem solving, an example inspired by the book he co-authored with Jeff Liker, The Toyota Way Fieldbook.

Check out the link and take a read. Good stuff. Why do we wear shorts and t-shirts in the house when it's cold, anyway?

    1. Thanks for the link, Mark. I realized that I didn’t have your blog on my blogroll, although I am a regular and avid reader thereof. Just took care of that omission.

    2. Mark,
The reason we wear shorts and tee shirts when it is cold is because our wives turn the heat up too high! This gets back to one of the rules of root cause analysis- to find root causes that can be solved. Since I will not be able to solve the root cause I will have a higher heat bill and wear shorts! I did like Kents example though.
