July’s Leading Lean

I started writing the Leading Lean column for Assembly Magazine January of this year. This move corresponded with the release of my book, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Lean: Lessons from the Road. I’ve been writing pieces for about 9 years, but Leading Lean has been my first regular monthly column. I have greatly enjoyed many aspects. I have enjoyed watching the topics unfold month after month. I have enjoyed tackling topics that might not warrent their own book, but are still worth addressing. I have enjoyed the excellent response I have gotten from readers, some challenging my opinions (if no one disagreed, then I clearly wouldn’t be pushing the envelope), many agreeing and a vast number of questions from people wanting to learn more. I have also enjoyed and learned from my relationship with Assembly Magazine, particularly the editor Don Hegland and one of the senior editors, Austin Weber. I look forward to the next six months, and hopefully many years, of sharing ideas with you through the Leading Lean column.

This month I directly talk about the topic of the column, leadership. Take a look, and let me know your thoughts. Particularly, answer the 3 questions and let me know what happens. Enjoy!
