Postcards from Raytheon

Thanks to Bill Waddell for sending me this. Apparently, he requested the now-infamous "Unwritten Rules" book that was plagarized (or plagiarized, as I've now learned it is spelled) by Raytheon CEO Bill Swanson. He got this postcard in the mail.

What a priceless postcard. I guess it would be expecting too much to want the postcard to read "We have discontinued distribution because our CEO was caught being a lying weasel. Rest assured he got no pay raise this year. See, we took responsibility. Really, it was his underling's fault. Please quit paying attention to this issue, we were hoping it would just go away."

Here was a good piece written by a friend of the blog, Tom Ehrenfeld.

Bill Swanson's first unwritten rule of management: "Raytheon exists for one purpose only - to make money for the shareholders."

Bill Swanson's second unwritten rule of management: "Do as I say, not as I do."

These are the rules i've noticed while working at Raytheon San Diego...the first rule is a direct quote.

Uncle Ray-Ray loves all his employees.
