WNDU-TV: News Story: Conn-Selmer cuts pay and benefits of employees on strike – April 07, 2006

It's been more than two weeks, but the Conn-Selmer plant is still on strike, partly as a result of their failed lean effort it seems. As someone pointed out earlier, it's not ALL of Conn-Selmer that is struggling with lean. Apparently there are good examples, but this plant in question makes low-end “Bach” instruments, which apparently have some different financial pressures. If you click on my earlier post, you see some interesting comments from apparent Bach insiders.

Bill Waddell sent me this article about Gibson Guitar, a company that is doing lean well in the music instruments industry.
